[ Dear Congressman Sherman, ]

On this New Year's Eve at the end of 2012, I am writing to respectfully demand your emergency intervention to immediately halt the destruction of essential habitat in the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Preserve. I was shocked to learn that the Army Corps of Engineers, with a lack of stakeholder input and scientific justification, has chopped down mature trees and cleared ground vegetation needed during winter months by so many birds, both migratory and resident, as well as other wildlife dependent upon this location for their survival.
